We will begin our adventure during week 1 in the land of pizza, pasta and Gucci, as we explore Italian cinema and the live theatre art of Commedia Dell'arte.
At the end of our classes looking at the different styles of theatre and film, you will be asked to choose your favourite. Once you have chosen your favourite, you will work in pairs, with someone else who has chosen the same style as you, and you will work on a short 2 minute devised performance which you will show the class in the last week of term. As well as your performance, you will need to write about the different aspects of your performance such as the style, why you chose it, your stage craft (props, costumes ect.) and any other relevant information. If you choose to do film, it is up to you as to whether you perform it live in class, or film it. The explanation of your performance will need to be 500 words and handed in at the time of your performance.
